JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance procedures for medical equipment as needed.
Perform or arrange for repair of medical equipment, computer equipment, and telecommunications equipment.
Manage third party support and repair of all equipment.
Advise staff in selecting special equipment for patient care as needed.
Participate in new equipment evaluation and product review as requested by the Manager.
Furnish time frames for equipment maintenance and/or implementation of specific projects.
Cross train and assist other Technical Services staff.
Follow all policies for operational support and procedures.
Complete, in a timely and accurate manner, all duties, including Service Desk.
Review Environment of Care Committee meeting minutes and programs, supervise Quality Assurance reports, and serve on task forces as assigned.
Maintain inventory and preventive maintenance databases as needed.
Provide support as needed to maintain network workstations, wiring, and peripherals.
Assure before leaving each day that all calls and patient related needs are either settled or turned over in such a manner as to provide for patient safety and care.
Assure before leaving each day that all supplies and materials are left in such a fashion as to be drawn from during the evening or weekend in a manner that can meet patient safety and care.
Evaluate and stays abreast of technical trends and new products relating to the biomedical, telecommunications, and Information Technology community and applies those changes to the hospital systems at SC.
Learn and apply knowledge regarding new systems. Research, recommend, and implement new technologies appropriately.
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process.

Associate Degree; or similar work experience.

Basic computer skills, understanding of electronics; electrical, mechanical, trouble shooting skills, and basic hospital terminology.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sedentary work involves sitting but may involve walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and working on the floor for brief periods of time. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Potential for indirect exposure to blood and body fluids from dirty medical equipment or devices.
