What You'll Do
As an Investments Operations Technician, you will:
Monitor security trades for accurate allocations and settlements to ensure portfolio positions remain up to date. Communicate with portfolio managers, brokers and custodian banks to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Input securities transactions and other applicable data into accounting, trading and investment management systems to ensure tea members have access to up-to-date information when making investment decisions that support strong returns. Verifies transactions and holdings to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
Complete and submit various custom forms, move and/or adjust investments ensuring accurate amount(s), location(s), and timing. Forms may include, but are not limited to letters of direction, wire forms, and proxy vote forms.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to complete brokerage account applications and ongoing compliance requests, such as ‘Know Your Customer’ and ‘Anti-Money Laundering’ to reach a resolution that parties are satisfied with, while also ensuring the organization obtains all needed information.
Run, verify, and distribute reports to team members that provide insights on investment positions, activity and policy compliance.
Receive, read, organize and prioritize physical and electronic mail for the department. Respond to inquiries as possible, identifying time sensitive correspondence, and routing information to the appropriate area.
Additionally, you will:
Perform other administrative duties including, but not limited to reviewing broker and bank statements for cash, entering and monitoring department expenses, organizing tax forms, supporting audit requests and ordering supplies.
Identify and recommend to management opportunities to improve control and create process efficiencies.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
What it Takes
Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years of related work experience in office support, banking, investments or related field
Attention to detail
Effective communication skills, including the ability to create maintain and follow process documentation
Ability to work well under time constraints
Basic knowledge of Investments and strong desire to learn
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
Knowledge of databases and/or Microsoft Access or SQL beneficial
Ability to learn investment-related software such as PAM, Bloomberg and Banking Systems
