Who we are looking for

We are looking for an Investment Fund Onboarding Officer reporting directly to the Head of Fund Business Department.

The role is expected to cover the front office function servicing Japanese clients in relation to investment fund services, and to meet the requirement, following qualifications are needed:

The team you will be joining is part of the front office function servicing Japanese client on their investment fund products. The expectation of the role is to further expand State Street`s presence and share of offshore fund service business in Japan, through deepening relationship with Asset Owners , Asset Managers and other stakeholders / related parties as well as collaborating internally.

What you will be responsible for

As an Investment Fund Onboarding Officer you will:

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders in regards to documentation for new transactions
  • Maintain excellent client-care and relationship with existing and potential clients and other counterparties
  • Communicate effectively with external parties such as auditors, lawyers, authorities, clients (not only investors, but investment managers, distributors etc.), liaison in Tokyo and with internal parties
  • Maintain and control contracts related to fund clients
  • Co-work with and provide support to the other departments from client relationship point of view
  • Support the arrangement of documents and agreements in relation to set-ups, structural changes, liquidations, etc.
  • Provide administrative support including the preparation of presentations and reports
  • Make proof of sense and sound judgment towards risk awareness
  • Inform the line manager of all risks of error and actual errors as soon as detected and evaluate their impact
  • Acting as the escalation point to resolve business/service issues

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Seasoned professional with Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Japanese native speaker / business level English (written/verbal)
  • minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • mid to extensive experience in dealing with either servicing Japanese client’s investment funds domiciled in the Cayman Islands and Luxembourg (is a plus) and /or having provided client services in the financial sector that involve investment fund scheme
