William Blair’s Secondaries Advisory team of experts provide financial sponsors and their investors with holistic, bespoke solutions across all stages of the private equity lifecycle. The private equity community relies on us for premier guidance and expertise when navigating GP-led transactions (single-asset and multi-asset continuation vehicles, fund restructurings & recapitalizations, spinouts & spin-ins, portfolio company shareholder liquidity solutions, strip sales, and tender offers) and LP-led transactions.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

  • Unique opportunity to work alongside current analysts, associates, and senior bankers over the course of a 9-week programme with the Secondary Advisory team
  • Take on all functions of a full-time analyst
    • Direct client exposure
    • Opportunity to harness your potential
    • Work alongside and support senior bankers in research and creation of pitch materials
    • Build fund-level and asset-level financial models to value potential transactions
    • Conducting research on fund strategies and sector focus to better align with client targeting and enhance market mapping efforts
    • Maintain database of the team’s communications with fund managers, limited partners, and secondary investors
    • Assist with the transaction execution process, including all investor dialogue tracking and diligence requests
    • Play integral role in various deals

Qualifications

  • Pursuing bachelor's or master's degree with anticipated graduation between November 2026 to June 2027
  • Bachelor and master’s degree: all subjects considered
  • General understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • You are adaptable in an ever-changing environment and can manage through change with a high degree of emotional maturity
  • You are highly motivated, detail oriented, and thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Fluent in English is essential
  • Fluency in other European languages is a benefit

Additional Information

  • Throughout the 9-week programme, summer analysts are evaluated for opportunities in our full-time class, upon graduation

Application Process

  • Application window is open until 12th January 2026
  • Those eligible will be asked to complete an online assessment run by our assessment partner, SHL
  • Interviews & Assessment centers will either be in person or virtual (depending on availability)
  • The 9 week Summer Analyst programme will run between 15th June to 14th August 2026
