The Investment Advisor, Wood Gundy Corporate Group, is accountable for building and growing Wood Gundy client portfolios through dedicated relationship management, trusted investment advice and exceptional client service. The role works within a team focused on the delivery of an integrated wealth management offer to clients requiring tailored financial solutions.

Key Accountabilities:
Work with clients to develop strong client relationships by understanding what is important to them and make personalized recommendations that fit their priorities
Work regularly and collaboratively with partners/advisors across CIBC to provide specialized advice and ensure the delivery of the integrated wealth offer
Deliver trusted investment advice by focusing on personalized solutions in order to achieve the client’s financial goals - Understanding their current financial situation, risk profile, time horizon and other personal change factors
Proactively establish, develop and strong maintain strong client relationships through regular contact, providing timely value add information by considering the latest market developments, the economy and the investment industry
Leverage technology to deliver a consistent client experience and encourage self-directed client administrative activity through user-friendly CIBC interfaces
Research a broad range of investment products and services, such as individual equities, fixed-income offerings of all types, a variety of managed products, third-party investments, insurance as well as other comprehensive solutions to make informed recommendations to prospects and clients
Ensure client issues and concerns are dealt with appropriately, escalating issues to Wood Gundy Branch Manager as required
Conduct regular portfolio reviews, by self and with the team, maintain regular contact with clients to discuss investment options, financial goals, and to solicit appropriate new products/ services and to ensure client information is current on KYC
Attend regular training programs/knowledge sessions to develop and maintain relevant product and market knowledge, learn new techniques and skills and ensure completion of Continuing Education Credits required for IIROC license maintenance
Knowledge and Skills:
Well-developed investment and market knowledge to respond to detailed and moderately complex inquiries from a sophisticated, knowledgeable and high net-worth client group
Understanding of economic and political impacts on the business, changes in legislation, competitors, regulators, trends etc.
Well-developed relationship management skills in order to effectively network, prospect and build strong, positive and trusting client relationships
Interactive skills sufficient to convey complex conceptual information involving extensive interpretation and opinion (e.g., making presentations to clients on complex investment solutions / issues)
Excellent self-discipline, time management and organization skills are required to meet multiple/tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
Well-developed writing skills sufficient to prepare proposals and presentation/seminar material.
Excellent communication skills to resolve conflict and effectively partner with internal and external partners
Demonstrated learning agility with an ability to understand sophisticated client needs and build tailored solutions that fits with client’s priorities
Proficiency and working knowledge of PC software applications including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
