Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage GIFS’ Special Investigation Unit (SIU) states’ departments of insurance (DOI) fraud referral and annual reporting processes/submissions.

  • Serve as the primary contact for DOI and law enforcement inquiries.

  • Remain current on states’ SIU requirements and regulations, providing guidance / training as required.

  • Maintain appropriate records/case files of SIU activity and DOI interactions.

  • Collaborate with outside counsel to update and file the John Hancock Anti-Fraud Plan with required states.

  • Manage the annual Anti-Fraud training module to include its content, testing, release and tracking.

  • Be the subject matter expert/administrator of GIFS’ case management database, to include system changes, training, reporting, and dashboards.

  • Provide operational support/administrative assistance to GIFS’ practice area directors.

  • Work case assignments of varying complexity regarding internal and external fraud (e.g., fraud, misconduct, sales/market issues, etc.) involving employees, agents/distributors, and others.

  • Conduct investigations with the highest degree of professionalism, confidentiality and quality.

  • Conduct interviews of pertinent individuals, obtain and review physical documentary and forensic evidence.

  • Demonstrate strong information gathering and analysis skills across various types of sources, including Company databases, Internet sources, and external providers.

  • Communicate and present investigation findings by way of well-written, accurate, concise and objective reports.

  • Prioritize case load in accordance with GIFS’ and requester needs while regularly communicating findings and investigation status.

  • Manage investigation case file opening, closing, document flow, and record retention in accordance with GIFS’ and Company policy.

  • Acquire knowledge and remain current on Company products and Requester operations.

  • Maintain and expand knowledge of investigative techniques, technology, database resources, industry developments, compliance issues, Privacy laws and other relevant legislations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum; 5 -15 years of relevant experience

  •  Experience leading teams to superior execution

  • Ability to interface with and influence stakeholders at various levels of seniority across business and functional boundaries to achieve objectives

  •  Strong facilitation skills with the ability to be both co-operative and collaborative while understanding when assertive and directive behavior is required

  •  Ability to exhibit good judgment and handle sensitive/confidential information
     Experience with analyzing information/data and developing frameworks/methodology to drive decision-making; strong problem solving and analytical skills

  •  Ability to grasp business and technology concepts of increasing complexity

  •  Good understanding of technology space, particularly FinTech; interest in emerging technologies

  •  Demonstrated initiative; ability to collaborate across teams and divisions

  •  Comfortable working in an unstructured environment where concepts and ideas will be designed and tested in an accelerated timeframe

  •  Excellent communication skills, ability to present complex ideas clearly and experience with presentation preparation

  •  Passion for innovation and a high degree of comfort with ambiguity

Salary range is expected to be between

$90,225.00 USD - $162,405.00 USD
