About the Team:

The Misfits Market Inventory Planning Team is responsible for ensuring that we are maintaining healthy inventory levels across all segments of our business, while minimizing risk to shrink and keeping in-stock levels at target. The team also works closely with the Category Management team to support managing our incredible vendor relationships, sourcing and purchasing. Working closely with our vendor/manufacturing partners, the Procurement Team leads the charge at Misfits Market in fighting food waste not only at the farm level but with consumer packaged goods as well. 

About the Role:

We are looking to hire a passionate planning professional to join the Inventory Planning Team at Misfits Market. The Produce Inventory Planning Manager will work alongside the Produce Planning team & directly with a Produce Category Manager as we expand our supplier network and take on food waste at a larger scale. They will execute on the purchasing plans created by the category manager, including, but not limited to - forecasting weekly demand, Purchase Order management including issuing PO’s to vendors, planning expected pick and delivery times, inventory management, coordinating with our transportation team, communicating with the operations team in our various facilities, and much more. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Consistently meet quarterly metrics including sales and inventory plans based on forecast accuracy, on-time deliveries, in-stock rate, and overall inventory levels.
  • Utilize logical analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and financially sound judgment to deliver conclusions and recommendations to the Director of Inventory Planning and cross-functional teams.
  • Forecast at the item and fulfillment center level quantities needed within assigned categories to meet sales plans, minimize shrink risk, and hit planned inventory level targets.
  • Purchase Order management, which includes creating Purchase Orders, verifying all information on purchase orders is correct, sending purchase orders to vendors, and tracking purchase orders until they deliver to our fulfillment centers.
  • Assist finance with resolving PO and invoice discrepancies. Coordinate with receivers to verify arrivals. Work with vendors to resolve any quality or quantity issues.
  • Manage weekly business opportunities to create  innovative and efficient solutions to business opportunities and risks to the organization

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency in excel and google sheets- using functions including vlookups, pivot tables, index matches.
  • Ability to organize large and more complex data sets ensuring data is accurate while also being able to identify discrepancies.
  • Has the ability to identify patterns in a data set that include internal and external factors that lead to set go forward strategies
  • Considers impact to customers and what matters to them.
  • Can draw from industry insights. Is an excellent interpersonal and negotiation skill
  • Proven skills in MS office suite and Google
  • Some weekend coverage required

Details of Position & Benefits:

  • Annual salary: $80,000 - 90,000
