Inventory Planning Analyst

Schedules and plans the purchasing of purchased finished goods utilizing MRP. Prioritizes and monitors inventory, and adjusts the plan as needed. Performs required reporting duties.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  •  Utilizes MRP in the planning of purchased finished goods
  • Analyzes inventory needs, determines domestic or offshore production
  • Identifies patterns in product and supplier performance to help drive purchasing decisions
  • Creates and maintains purchase orders
  • Makes decisions regarding inventory levels, purchases, moving PO due dates, and cancellations
  • Maintains and improves tools associated with planning of purchased finished goods
  • Participates in Microsoft Dynamics/MRP improvement initiatives
  • Works with Merchandise Planning to reconcile supply and demand and to help with the S&OP process
  • Collaborates with Inventory Planning team to review inventory planning parameters to establish/maintain appropriate customer service driven safety stock/reorder point levels for components and/or finished goods
  • Build and maintain seasonal sample catalogs to support internal ordering processes
  • Create and distribute sample order forms to cross-functional departments to collect sample product requests
  • Consolidate departmental orders and coordinate sample purchasing requirements and place purchase orders for sample product
  • Maintain accurate records of sample inventory, purchase orders, and allocations and communicate status updates and resolve issues related to sample orders and deliveries
  • Oversee orders for allocation and delivery consistent with Vera Bradley’s shipping policy including inventory allocation, delivery priority, resolving questions, and adherence to special instructions including Early Order Period, Sales Consultant and Departmental orders 
  • Establish and maintain allocation rules regarding fulfillment process, including adherence to release rules and managing customer priority shipping  
  • Collaborate with Microsoft Dynamics business analysts to interpret business challenges and make recommendations to optimize systemic allocation and delivery flows 
  • Monitor all backorders, cycle times and unallocated product, communicating needs to Inventory Planning and/or Distribution to shorten fulfillment lead times 
  • Establish and maintain the flow of orders to the distribution center for shipping while maximizing order fulfillment and minimizing average deliveries per order 
  • Perform allocation procedure analysis while providing recommendations on best practices, process improvements and development of innovative solutions 
  • Performs complex ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree majoring in business, supply chain or related field strongly preferred
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification desired

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 3+ year purchasing or material planning experience preferred
  • Good PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Excellent MS Excel skills required
  • Microsoft Dynamics & Power BI skills preferred
  • Strong team player
  • Detail oriented with ability to prioritize and manage workload
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong decision making ability
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Base Pay Range:

$58,100.00 - $87,100.00

Vera Bradley’s compensation ranges are based on market data and comply with all local, state and federal regulations. Individual pay within the listed range depends on work location, skills, experience, and relevant education. The posted salary reflects base pay only and excludes bonuses, equity, or other incentives, if applicable.
