Description:
In this role, you will manage inventory operations, including receiving, tracking, and distributing materials while maintaining accurate documentation and regulatory compliance. You will monitor inventory levels, resolve discrepancies, and apply best practices for material handling and storage.

Additionally, you will provide site coverage as needed for Glasswash/Autoclave Operations, Chemical Management, Pipette Management, and Surplus Asset Management (SAM). Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential to maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.

What will you do?

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inventory Management: Use handheld RF scanners and our mobile app to perform replenishments, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, returns, and backorder processing
  • Receive and inspect shipments, scan and store items, and maintain cycle counts to guarantee up-to-date inventory records
  • Own customer interactions respond via email (our primary channel), follow up by phone, and assist internal partners to resolve questions and build trust
  • Proactively monitor stock levels and flag gaps or issues to prevent operational impacts
  • Receiving: receive and store incoming biological samples in appropriate temperature locations, handle dry ice, and collapse or recycle packaging material as needed.
  • Glasswash and Autoclave: perform daily pickup of dirty glassware from labs, run washer and autoclave cycles to sterilize lab materials, redistribute clean glassware to storage areas. 
  • Chemical Management: register incoming chemicals and reagents to internal system library, perform monthly chemical inventory in lab areas, remove registered materials from the system upon disposal, coordinate HHM pick-up and disposal.
  • Pipette Management: coordinate on site and off site pipette servicing by collecting pipettes, record details in log, and contact vendor to facilitate visit or ship to warehouse.
  • SAM: Fulfill surplus asset requests and proceed with display for auction, salvage and recycling type activities, and schedule pick up as needed.
  • Non-Hazardous Waste Bulking: Pick up plastic bottles of non-hazardous media waste from designated lab locations, routine bulking of non-hazardous waste from labs into large waste drum.
  • Capture and report job specific metrics to Site Supervisor, maintain good record-keeping and house-keeping.

Requirements:

The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline. Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is often required. The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs. Standing, walking, and manual material handling are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of customer-facing, retail stocking, warehouse, or inventory-control experience
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills—especially via email—and a friendly, solution-focused approach
  • A self-starter who thrives with detail, accountability, and teamwork

Schedule:

  • 8 Hour Shift
  • 8:30AM – 4:30PM, Monday to Friday

Compensation

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in British Columbia is $36,608.00–$49,150.00.
