INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Personnel/Modified Direct Hiring Authority. Major Duties:

  • You will make purchases of specific, clearly defined items and serve as a buyer for the activity using the Government Purchase Card.
  • You will interface with vendors to manage maintenance and repair of equipment, assemblies and components.
  • You will develop activity plans that identify actions, responsibilities and schedules that must be met to ensure that proper and timely support is provided.
  • You will identify and resolve problems relative to material support.
  • You will expedite the acquisition movement of materials, review/evaluate interim support measures and initiate corrective action in conjunction with supply, procurement, maintenance, production and/or other personnel.
  • You will support and attend meetings/briefings with agency management to communicate the status of material projects/programs.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing life cycle/program support. Examples of specialized experience should demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a standard Purchase card program and simplified acquisition procedures, 2) Assisting in researching supply problems and providing solutions with minimum supervision. 3) Assisting in performing accounting functions such as processing and recording of billing invoices, recording of obligations, expenditures, etc. 4) Reviewing reports, plans and/or schedules to help determine material support requirements. 5) Communicating well orally and in writing with proficiency in foundational computer literacy. Applicant must have good history to obtain a government procurement purchase credit card.
