Shift: Monday to Friday, 6–8 AM to 2–4 PM (to be confirmed)
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for the daily management and maintenance of an efficient and accurate inventory management system. They play a leadership role in the warehouse by monitoring, measuring, communicating, coaching and developing individual and team performance of their direct reports. The majority of the Supervisor, Inventory Control’s time is spent out on the floor leading inventory management processes and providing direction to and coaching employees on safety, service and productivity. They monitor daily metrics and implement improvements to operations in pursuit of operational excellence, a safe workplace, an engaged team, and an exceptional customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management & Control
- Leads and promotes a culture where Health & Safety is the number one priority.
- Manages inventory accuracy through proper stock rotation, cycle counting, reconciliations, and physical inventories.
- Coordinates and supports annual physical inventory counts in accordance with customer and company requirements.
- Maintains accurate inventory records and generates weekly and monthly inventory reports.
- Conducts product searches, location corrections, and inventory adjustments as required.
- Develops and maintains programs to ensure secure access to inventory records and controls to detect shortages or losses.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provides hands-on leadership and subject-matter support for inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Leads by influence through coaching, guidance, and collaboration rather.
- Supports daily operational priorities by working closely with supervisors and managers to ensure continuity of service.
Auditing, Quality & Loss Prevention
- Audits inbound and outbound freight for correct quantities, condition, and coding.
- Develops and manages return audit programs, ensuring proper disposition, documentation, and credit processing.
- Oversees damaged and defective product programs, including recoup, salvage, dumping, or return-to-stock activities.
- Maintains accurate records for all recouped and disposed inventory.
- Participates in claims investigations, data gathering, and root cause analysis.
- Oversees quarantine and destruction of spoiled or non-conforming product where applicable.
Customer Service & Continuous Improvement
- Leads the team in delivering high levels of service to internal and external customers.
- Measures and reports on customer service metrics and supports initiatives to meet or exceed service standards.
- Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures and customer-specific requirements.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and makes recommendations to management to enhance inventory management and operational efficiency.
- Continuously develops operational knowledge and leadership capability through professional development.
- Performs other duties as assigned in alignment with the company’s vision, mission, strategy, and culture.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading inventory management and providing frontline supervision in a warehouse/logistics environment.
- Post-secondary education in Operations, Logistics or related field.
- First Aid certification is an asset.
- Excellent people leadership abilities and a dedication to continuous improvement.
- Approachable, positive demeanor with a hands-on and team-oriented work style.
- Experience working in an environment with pick and ship processes as well as high volume computer generated inventory control (barcoding, RF).
- Knowledge of HACCP.
- Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
- Proven ability to supervise a team working in a fast-paced warehouse environment to ensure accuracy, compliance and a team culture of excellence.
- Driven to provide exceptional customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills including leadership, conflict resolution and team building abilities.
- Dedicated to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to quickly understand and identify issues and propose solutions.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize work flow to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment. Able to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Takes initiative, is proactive in their work, and results-oriented.
- Ability to manage and adapt to change.
- Experience with warehousing software applications.
- Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience working effectively in a unionized environment governed by collective agreements an asset.
The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
Pay Range:$60,900.00 - $95,200.00
