POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the oversight of inventory control in the Dunellen, NJ. Drive and monitor inventory accuracy throughout the warehousing processes from the receipt of inventory on inbound orders, packaging of finished goods, and on to the shipment of inventory on outbound orders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and erroneous transactions
  • Troubleshoot to find the root cause of inventory issues and discrepancies
  • Respond to urgent inventory issues and counts
  • Perform defined number of cycles counts per business day
  • Maintain inventory at an accuracy that warrants the exclusion of a yearly physical inventory
  • Educate and train the workforce when errors are made within the system
  • Reduce on-hand inventory through minimum/maximum adjustments
  • Work with Sales, PLMs, and Quality to reduce stagnant inventory
  • Assist other facilities with inventory issues when applicable
  • Work with Finance & Accounting to ensure the integrity of inventory valuation
  • Create, customize, and deliver reports on inventory data (i.e., usage, turns, etc.)
  • Demonstrate an advance proficiency with all inventory control functions in D365
  • Support driving down excess (salable) inventory generated by the business
  • Responsible for tracking KPI’s such as inventory accuracy, write-off / write-in data, and other applicable measures as required.
  • Responsible for the daily PRD and TFR transactions
  • Drive process improvements
  • Develop correction actions and develop KPIs for improvements
  • Effectively, timely, and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customers
  • Participates in product counting, relocation, and assigned inventory processes
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures to ensure efficient and consistent warehouse operations
  • Ensures the interface with customers and co-workers is being conducted in a manner that is conducive to operational goals
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and ensure personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the company
  • Comply with all safety requirements within the company
  • Comply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices as required from Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company procedures
  • Follow WHMIS, MSDS and all other safety training requirements and procedures
  • Follow all government and regulatory requirements when handling and transporting chemical materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed
  • Learn purchasing as a secondary function
  • Regular and sustained attendance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrate professionalism at all time
  • 3-Years experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
  • 3-Years experience with warehouse order selection
  • 2-Years demonstrated Inventory Control experience minimum
  • 2-Years experience operating a forklift (preferred)
  • 1-Year experience operating a High Lift – Reach Truck (preferred)
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Experience with warehouse management software
  • Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics [AX & D365]
  • Must be able to read and write load diagrams, shipping orders, and work instructions
  • Must be able to operate electronic equipment, such as RF scanners or radios as assigned
  • Pass forklift driving exam (post-offer)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues
  • Effective communication skills and time management
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related discipline preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent - The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
