Position Description
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing inventory management and control processes within a high SKU environment. This role plays a critical part in driving inventory accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through the implementation of best practices and lean methodologies. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate with key stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of inventory systems and processes aligned with company goals.
What You Will Do:
Lead and manage inventory control processes, including cycle counting and physical inventory.
Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce costs.
Analyze inventory data to identify and report potential excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory practices with lean principles.
Design and enhance policies, procedures, and infrastructure to support inventory best practices.
Establish performance expectations for team members and conduct regular performance appraisals.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to staff to support professional development.
Communicate merit increases and performance-related feedback effectively and appropriately.
Act as a recognized leader and facilitator in inventory-related initiatives across the organization.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
Minimum 7 years of experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or service-related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proven experience in inventory control management within a high SKU environment
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and risk management
Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives
Advanced analytical and planning skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Experience implementing lean enterprise methods (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)
Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred
APICS or CPSM certification considered an asset

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000
