Position Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing inventory management and control processes within a high SKU environment. This role plays a critical part in driving inventory accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through the implementation of best practices and lean methodologies. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate with key stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of inventory systems and processes aligned with company goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and manage inventory control processes, including cycle counting and physical inventory.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce costs.

  • Analyze inventory data to identify and report potential excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory practices with lean principles.

  • Design and enhance policies, procedures, and infrastructure to support inventory best practices.

  • Establish performance expectations for team members and conduct regular performance appraisals.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to staff to support professional development.

  • Communicate merit increases and performance-related feedback effectively and appropriately.

  • Act as a recognized leader and facilitator in inventory-related initiatives across the organization.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or service-related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proven experience in inventory control management within a high SKU environment

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and risk management

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives

  • Advanced analytical and planning skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels

  • Experience implementing lean enterprise methods (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred

  • APICS or CPSM certification considered an asset

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000
