Job Summary: The Inventory Control Coordinator supports system-wide inventory management from the health system’s centralized distribution location.  This role collaborates with team members to ensure accurate cycle counting, receiving and storing of goods, efficient delivery of items, and inventory levels are sustained to meet the needs of the health system’s facilities.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.

Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient Microsoft Office skills and other applicable software as required for inventory transactions, selecting and executing reports, and analyzing data.  Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.  Ability to interact with staff members in a positive and proactive manner.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Collaborates with departmental leadership to develop and track key metrics in inventory management; reports on data to ensure an effective and efficient workflow is consistently maintained for the distribution center’s operations including anticipating future needs and identifying trends.  Maintains and supports the enterprise resource planning system (ERP) and the warehouse management software (WMS) to guarantee accurate inventory levels are reflected, including receipts, credits, transfers, adjustments, and cycle counts.  Monitors and researches inventory discrepancies to determine root cause and takes corrective actions to resolve any issues discovered.  Prepares and organizes annual inventory counts; supports reorder points and fixed order quantities.  Identifies back order issues, works with team members to resolve these issues, or expedite the receipt of substituted products.  Coordinates the inspection of incoming goods for conformity with order and specifications, and makes certain products are free from defects.  Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that maintain optimal workflow.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.

Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise).  Works with internal/external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
