Reporting to: Director, Tissue Program
Classification: Inventory Assistant
Worksite: Based out of 483 Bay Street/25 Morton Shulman Avenue
Schedule: Monday to Friday with willingness to work flexible hours as needed
Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN), part of Ontario Health, is responsible for the coordination of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in Ontario. Our mandate includes increasing public awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation, education of health care professionals, and ensuring a safe and effective donation and transplant system in Ontario. Working collaboratively with our stakeholders and fostering organizational and individual growth, we value honesty, trust, respect and compassion.
This position is responsible for all logistical support and inventory management for the Tissue Program including but not limited to procurement, management, distribution of equipment and supplies; and maintenance/calibration of equipment. In addition, this position will be assigned to projects and tasks that support changes in the Tissue Program in areas related to equipment, supplies and staff resource utilization as required.
Here is what you will be doing:
Manage inventory of all recovery supplies;
Procure/source all recovery supplies including instrumentation, consumables, pre-packs and external services;
Conduct inventory checks for usage rates and out-dated supplies;
Accept/release critical supplies from quarantine;
Manage and coordinate inventory supply shipments to remote recovery teams;
Order and maintaining tissue shipping supplies
Coordinate maintenance and replacement of instrument trays/case packs;
Conduct regular audits of tissue refrigerators/freezers;
Monitor and ensure calibration, validation and preventative maintenance is scheduled and completed for all relevant equipment/instrumentation;
Manage all tissue recovery rooms including stocking and updating forms, auditing logs, etc.;
Maintain equipment profiles;
Maintain competency schedules for annually competency assessment;
Archive quality control forms, logs, etc.;
Provide complete and accurate data reports as requested on equipment and supplies used to support the Tissue Program
Coordinate and verify daily/weekly cleaning logs, stocking, maintenance of tissue recovery supply rooms are completed and meet regulatory standards;
Coordinate scheduling;
Maintain Tissue Recovery Coordinator user profiles
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Post-secondary diploma, or university degree in a related field to health services, business administration or equivalent required;
Inventory management certificate or equivalent experience preferred;
Project management graduate certificate or equivalent experience preferred
Two (2) years’ of experience managing inventory or logistics support in a health service or like industry preferred
Knowledge and Skills
Highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability to support a team-oriented environment;
Demonstrated project management experience in resource allocation preferred;
Demonstrated exceptional organizational ability with superior attention to detail;
Experience scheduling staff;
Excellent customer service experience with the ability to diffuse conflict situations; identifying and resolving issues promptly;
Willingness to work flexible hours, as may be required
Proven superior written and oral communication skills;
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills;
Highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, and external clients and stakeholders;
Demonstrated administrative and computer skills including advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook;
Requires ability to lift and move equipment and supplies that weigh up to 50 lbs. and other smaller items repetitively throughout the shift
Rate of Pay: $48, 561.33 to $60, 701.11 per annum
Employment Type: Temporary full time (12 months)
