JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Office of Entrepreneurship & Commercialization (OEC) is actively seeking an intern for Spring and Summer 2026 to contribute to various entrepreneurship programs within the dynamic framework of Invent Penn State. Reporting directly to the Business Systems Analyst of the OEC, this part-time position involves providing essential support to both new and ongoing entrepreneurship initiatives and data collection on the cloud based Salesforce platform. Responsibilities encompass a range of activities, including administrative support, program data collection and migration, online research, and utilization of cloud-based tools such as Microsoft 365 Suite and Salesforce.
The projects supported fall under the Invent Penn State umbrella, encompassing OEC's diverse initiatives, programs, and events like the LaunchBox and Innovation Network, the Startup Leadership Network, Research Commercialization and the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Programs. We are searching for an ideal candidate who embodies a self-starting spirit with an entrepreneurial mindset. The candidate should either have experience with or be eager to learn Salesforce CRM and project management tools, exhibit attention to detail and process orientation, possess strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate curiosity with the ability to question and contribute insights.
Collaboration is a key aspect of this role, and the candidate should be comfortable working within a team, open to learning from others, and excel in written and verbal communication. Additionally, the candidate must be adept at setting and meeting deadlines. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to participate in the planning and execution of cloud-based projects aligned with their area of expertise and study within the Office of Entrepreneurship & Commercialization. The scope of work can be tailored to academic goals and desired learning outcomes.
