Intra-Logistics Operations Manager (Remote with Travel)
The Intra-logistics Operations Manager is responsible for managing, scheduling and prioritizing Yard Services, Local Internal Transportation, Spring Water Hauling, and Third Party Logistic (3PL) suppliers. The Manager, Intra-Logistics Operations focuses on efficiently utilizing supplier resources to maximize customer service while reducing waste and cutting costs. This role is also responsible for leading cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new Third Party Warehousing and Intra-Logistics suppliers as well as analyzing production plans to effectively schedule and prioritize supplier resources required to meet customer requirements and production plans.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate closely with planning department to ensure that sufficient Yard Services, Local Internal Transportation, Spring Water Hauling and 3PL resources are available to meet production plans.
- Lead cross-functional team made up of plant managers, planners and customer service to plan and execute the successful on-boarding of new 3PL warehouses.
- Oversee 3PL physical plant construction and train 3PL personnel in proper inventory management, receiving and loading process, and develop tools to communicate capacity and inventory status to planners and customer service.
- Ensure that 3PL locations are properly staffed to perform value add postponement or break bulk services; schedule and prioritize these resources to respond to customer requirements.
- Work closely with local plant management to ensure that there is sufficient capacity and resources for Yard Services, Local Internal Transport, Spring Water Hauling and 3PL Suppliers.
- Communicate changes in capacity requirements in an efficient and professional way to suppliers ensuring that resources are optimized, minimizing costs while ensuring excellent customer service.
- Conduct root cause analysis for service failures and lead cross-functional teams to develop sustainable solutions to correct failures.
- Collaborate with customer service to ensure that customer requirements are communicated to 3PL personnel; collaborate with 3PL to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Seek, support, and implement internal and external process improvement opportunities.
- Manage supplier performance by developing KPIs that measure resource capacity and efficiency while driving continuous improvement.
- This position requires up to 50% travel.
