Intervention Specialist - Behavior

Job Description:

The Intervention Specialist will focus on student behavior and items related to the design, training, implementation, and monitoring of the school’s student behavior system. Collaboration with school administration, counselors and mental health providers, and teachers is critical. The critical skills include the ability to work with a wide range of students in support of their behavior regulation, problem solving, understanding of multiple perspectives, and executive functioning. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, collaboration, and support in the area of restorative strategies at the school and classroom level

Support students and staff with restorative conversations

Support students with behavior regulation, problem solving, and understanding multiple perspectives

Support students with the development of effective functioning skills

Support the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans

Collaboratively monitor effectiveness of the school’s student behavior systems

Regulary communicate with families about student behavior and supports

Refer students and families to mental health service providers or counselors when needed

Collaborate with school administration on appropriate disciplinary actions

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Provide leadership, collaboration, and support in the area of behavior regulation and management at the school and classroom level
