Summary Job Description: The primary purpose and goal of this position is to achieve ALC's commercial vision while promoting safety, quality, awareness, and compliance with company policies, and maximizing the impact of its actions on the company's sales, pricing, competition, and potential customers.
Key Responsibilities
As an intern, you will play a key role in planning and distributing cylinders through our various sales channels. Your tasks will fall into three main categories: planning, prioritization, and asset optimization. Working closely with sales, logistics, and production, you will be responsible for evaluating and prioritizing in order to optimize the profitability of Air Liquide's assets. To do this, a large part of your tasks will consist of setting min/max parameters and ensuring that they are respected. Subsequently, all orders will be approved by you in collaboration with supervisors in the industrial, specialty, and medical gases departments. You will monitor more than 20 stores and prioritize the three distribution centers in Quebec, namely Montreal, Varennes, and Vanier. You will also be responsible for implementing performance indicators and evaluating inventory levels to maximize our operational efficiency.
Your analyses must be based on the seasonality of certain products and actual on-site usage requirements in order to prioritize and maximize service levels (OFR). You will therefore play a key decision-making role in production and logistics, working with our main distribution points to plan priorities between satellites, direct customers, warehouses, and distributors.
You will participate in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in relation to inventory management and internal company processes. You will be able to apply concepts and tools learned in school.
