Job Requirements

Position Summary

The IT Business & Data Intern will support cross‑functional initiatives spanning Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and IT, with a strong focus on data, analytics, and process insight. This role is designed for a high‑potential student interested in how enterprise data and technology enable real‑world business decisions in a manufacturing environment.

The intern will work closely with IT, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations stakeholders to help analyze data, document processes, improve reporting, and support ongoing digital and analytics initiatives. This is a hands‑on role offering exposure to ERP systems, business processes, and enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Data Analysis

  • Assist with analyzing Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and KPIs used by business and IT leaders.
  • Help validate data accuracy and reconcile information across systems and reports.

Supply Chain & Operations Support

  • Work with Supply Chain and Operations teams to understand end‑to‑end processes such as planning, procurement, manufacturing, and inventory.
  • Assist in documenting current‑state processes and data flows.
  • Support data‑driven initiatives related to forecasting, service levels, inventory visibility, or operational performance.

Finance & Reporting Support

  • Assist with financial data analysis related to cost, spend, budgeting, or performance metrics.
  • Help prepare supporting analysis for forecasting, variance analysis, or management reporting.
  • Learn how financial and operational data connect within enterprise systems.

IT & Data Enablement

  • Support IT data and analytics teams with data preparation, documentation, and basic analysis.
  • Assist in organizing data definitions, KPIs, and business logic used in reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Gain exposure to enterprise systems such as ERP, BI tools, and data platforms.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Participate in meetings with IT and business stakeholders to understand requirements and objectives.
  • Communicate findings clearly through simple documentation, summaries, or presentations.
  • Learn how IT partners with business functions to deliver measurable value.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in:
    • Information Systems
    • Business Analytics
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Finance
    • Operations Management
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Data Analytics or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work with data in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic analysis).
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Curiosity about how technology and data drive business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to:
    • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
    • BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
    • SQL or basic data querying
  • Coursework or experience in Supply Chain, Finance, or Operations.
  • Interest in enterprise data, analytics, or digital transformation.
