About Flutter UKI

Flutter UK & Ireland are the UKI region of Flutter Entertainment. They unite a dozen brands including powerhouses Paddy Power, Betfair, Tombola and Sky Betting & Gaming, bringing together hundreds of teams and thousands of colleagues, who create trusted entertainment for millions of customers every week.

Role Overview:

You are a dedicated, self-motivated, driven technical graduate who would like to work in a team of engineers developing for and feature-improving highly available iOS Applications using Swift programming language and other emerging technologies.

The intern role is involved in the full software lifecycle, works closely with our scrum teams and can make a real impact from day one. We'll give you the time and support to build up your skills and keep progressing.

Exposure to emerging innovative technologies in business applications is an advantage!

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Core technical competencies:

• Build knowledge of new approaches, as well as development and testing technologies related to iOS applications;
• Learn about relevant industry technologies and get to grips with the complex interactions between them;
• Get familiar with secure coding principles and technical design principles (e.g. scalability, reliability, high-availability);

Software development, continuous improvement:

• Take ownership of tasks as you work through them with assistance and support (when you need it);
• Strengthen your skills in your primary programming language;
• Focus on your own development through on-the-job experience and actively seeking learning opportunities;
• Get involved in discussions about how we can improve the UX/UI of our products, our services and processes in your domain;

Architecture for developers:

• Demonstrate basic components modelling and interaction knowledge
• Show an awareness of reusability techniques (e.g. design patterns, library extraction, new component creation)

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:

• Basic knowledge of programming languages, OOP, design principles;
• Previous experience with Swift programming language is a plus;
• Passion for building a great consumer product that our customers will love;
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to effectively integrate iOS applications;
• Familiarity with code versioning tools (Git);
• Good written and verbal communication in English language;
