The opportunity

Are you passionate about engineering and eager to apply your skills in a real-world setting? This internship offers a unique opportunity for Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering students to contribute to the development of advanced design tools for traction transformers. You will join the TT Platform development team, which creates electrical and mechanical tools used globally to design traction transformers. Your role will involve implementing electrical design rules and developing software solutions to optimize the design process. Working in an agile environment alongside experts in transformer design, you will directly contribute to improving design performance and efficiency.

How you'll make an impact

  • Provide technical support and advice to internal clients, working frequently with international teams across multiple sites

  • Quickly integrate into the implementation of our globally used traction transformer design tool within a stimulating, multicultural environment that encourages professional development

  • Establish diverse interactions within the local Hitachi Energy traction transformer business unit, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and sales departments to implement client-specific solutions

  • Manage various tasks in the design project, including interactions with CAD tools, developing electrical design rules in Matlab, and VBA programming to enhance the design process and tool efficiency

  • Work in a result-oriented manner from initial client contact through to the technical work and completion of well-documented implementations

Your background

  • Currently studying Electrical or Software Engineering

  • Programming knowledge in VBA, SQL, and Matlab

  • Basic electrical engineering and transformer design skills

  • Proficiency in business-level English

  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently and proactively
