Join us as an Intern at Vopak as a Human Rights & CSRD Intern!
Late last year, we began strengthening our Human Rights Due Diligence processes to better understand our social impacts. As we advance our reporting to comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), we are looking for an intern / working student to help us refine and improve our approach.
During your internship, you will focus on evaluating our salient human rights risks across our operations and value chain. A key part of your mission will be to analyze, improve, and deploy the human rights survey we recently conducted. You will work closely with the Sust. Reporting and Global HR team to ensure our due diligence process, procedures and data supports the CSRD requirements, specifically the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) regarding social impacts.
What will you do as an Human Rights & CSRD Intern?
Analyze the results and methodology of our initial human rights survey. Identify gaps and redesign the questionnaire to capture more accurate, granular data from our internal and external stakeholders across our global footprint.
Support the team in mapping and evaluating our most salient human rights risks in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
Cross-reference our due diligence findings with the specific requirements of the ESRS Social standards (e.g., Own Workforce, Workers in the Value Chain, Affected Communities) to ensure data readiness for reporting.
Support the upcoming Double Materiality Assessment.
Work with internal departments (like HR, Procurement, and Operations) to gather necessary data and validate risk assessment findings.
Maintain clear documentation of the methodology used for the saliency assessment, ensuring an audit-ready trail for CSRD compliance.
What do we offer for you?
Gain professional experience and networking opportunities at our HQ with a great view of the Maas and Het Park.
Receive supportive and effective guidance from your internship supervisor.
An interesting and versatile internship for 5-6 months.
An internship allowance of €575,00 based on 40 hours.
An inclusive environment in which you can continue to develop personally and professionally.
What We Are Looking For
Currently enrolled in a Masters degree in Sustainability, Human Rights, Law or a related field.
A working understanding of the ESRS (specifically the social standards), and the global guiding principles on business and human rights.
Proficiency in survey design, data collection, and qualitative data analysis.
The ability to look at raw survey data, spot trends, identify gaps, and draw actionable conclusions regarding human rights
Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the confidence to interact with various internal stakeholders.
Highly organized with a focus on accuracy, knowing that this data will eventually feed into audited public reports.
