Job Description:
In order to support the Aerodynamic Design team, Airbus Operations is looking for an
Are you passionate about the future of aviation and want to shape the aerodynamic performance of next-generation aircraft using cutting-edge methods?
Are you eager to be in the driving seat of your own development and apply your skills to real-world challenges?
Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting our Aerodynamic Design team as an intern (d/f/m)!
This internship is focused on developing and implementing advanced methods for automated geometry generation within our aerodynamic design process. The goal is to leverage parametric Computer Aided Design (CAD) capabilities, creating robust scripts that accelerate the production of design variants, from initial surfaces to analysis-ready models.
As intern in our team, you can expect to be involved in the following activities:
CAD & Data Management: Work with a commercial CAD software to manage and organize design variants in our component repository.
Parametric Modelling: Develop robust, automated parametric definitions for aerodynamic components to allow for rapid design changes and iterations.
Simulation and Post-processing of results, aerodynamic assessment and data validation with experimental data from Wind Tunnel campaigns and data from previous numerical simulations.
Collaboration: Work within transnational project teams and across different engineering disciplines (Structures, Kinematics, etc.) to secure optimal multi-disciplinary design solutions.
You are an enrolled full-time student in a Master of Science programme. This internship is also suitable for recent graduates with a maximum of three years of relevant work experience.
You have strong verbal and written communication skills in our business language (English).
You have a desire to work in a collaborative, international team environment focused on driving future innovation.
A completed university degree BSc and current enrollment in MSc in Engineering/Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology/Data Science, Physics, or an equivalent field.
CAD Software: Hands-on experience with a major parametric CAD software package (CATIA V5/3DExperience is highly preferred).
Core Knowledge: A solid foundation in computational geometry, aerodynamics/flight physics, mathematics (linear algebra, calculus), and information technology.
Programming: Good working knowledge of a programming language (Python is highly preferred) for automation, with experience in CAD scripting environments being a major asset.
Simulation Skills: Familiarity with the geometry requirements and pre-processing steps for numerical simulations (CFD).
ML/AI Frameworks: Interest or experience with ML/AI applications, particularly in the context of Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Large Language Models (LLMs), would be a significant asset.
Please upload the following documents: cover letter, CV, relevant transcripts, enrolment certificate.
