Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for Mod Center Operations performed at the Southaven Customer Service Center. Responsibilities include daily execution of production functions to include: Production planning and scheduling, production of conversion assembly work orders, other production related requirements, i.e. inspections, testing, bearing changes, etc. The Production Supervisor manages materials and supplies to support production operations. Customer returns processing is also the responsibility of the Production Supervisor.
This position manages a production environment that utilizes 120v to 480v electric power. This position requires the ability to perform these responsibilities in a safe, accurate and timely manner in accordance with Safety policy & procedures, Quality and the principles of 6S3Q, and time standards. Regular attendance is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the role.
Position reports to the Director of Operations, working as part of the Southaven management team to drive continuous improvement using metrics to achieve logistics excellence in service, quality and cost.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of all programs related to the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.
  • Responsible for development and publication of a daily production schedule for Mod Center Operations.
  • Responsible for managing workstation operations driving productivity of assembly operations achieving on time shipment targets.
  • Responsible for product quality of accurately produced motor conversions and nameplates.
  • Provides a thorough understanding of the production and inventory control processes and systems to be able to proactively manage and work independently on issues in a timely manner and provide accurate resolutions.
  • Manage the product returns area to achieve cycle time target and maintain inventory in queue under target maximum.
  • Interact with Manager and peers to apply sound communication and motivational techniques with production staff.
  • Effectively communicate with external resources including customer service and suppliers.
  • Responsible for maintaining KPI’s and address negative variances and implement solutions to address KPI’s falling below prescribed Alarm Levels.
  • Monitor and ensure current and accurate inventory control.
  • Lead continuous improvement of service, quality and cost management leveraging lean manufacturing principles.
  • Collection of data/statistics and preparation of reports required by the Manager &/or Director.
  • Process timekeeping, payroll duties as required.
  • Supervise departmental employees and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
