Job Description – International Cyber Pricing Lead


Job Summary:

The Pricing team has responsibility for developing consistent pricing practices across the AXIS Insurance segment and is primarily responsible for pricing, product and portfolio monitoring and construction, profitability studies, new business / product development, price adequacy metric development and monitoring, and business planning. It is expected that the Pricing team will interact extensively with other functions including Underwriting, Reserving, Exposure Management, Finance, View of Risk.

The International Cyber Pricing Lead is responsible for providing pricing support to:
• International – Open Market and Facilities Cyber Liability, Technology Errors & Omissions, Media Liability
• Cyber coverages embedded in other AXIS Insurance products (e.g. business written out of Canada and Bermuda)

This role has overall responsibility for providing pricing support for Global Cyber & Technology business written out of our non-US offices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain pricing models and train underwriters to ensure a consistent approach across the unit
• Deliver quarterly product monitoring analyses to identify any profitability issues and / or business opportunities, and assist underwriters in developing subsequent action plans
• Assist underwriters as needed in the evaluation of large facilities incorporating experience and exposure rating and provide recommendations on optimizing the portfolios
• Evaluate the potential profitability of new facilities and assist underwriters in the development of new portfolio products
• Derive expected loss ratios for financial planning taking into account business strategy, market conditions, mix of business, trends and reinsurance structure
• Work with relevant teams to ensure risk / accumulation potential is evaluated appropriately and allowed for in pricing metrics

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• At least 10 years’ insurance industry experience – pricing experience preferable
• Fellow or Associate of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent
• Knowledge of cyber as a product and / or a peril preferable but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to establish credibility with both internal and external stakeholders
• Thoroughness, attention to detail and diligence
• Self-starter, proactive and with the ability to develop, recommend and implement new approaches
• Competent user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint – SQL, VBA advantageous
