Position Summary
The International Controller will lead financial operations across Middle East & Africa (MEA), Central Latin America (CLA), Europe, and Asia Pacific, ensuring financial integrity, statutory compliance, and strategic alignment across diverse international markets.
This role requires expertise in process standardization, automation, and system transformation to drive operational excellence globally. As a key member of the Business Unit Controllership team, you will manage all controllership-related activities, including maintaining and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP / local GAAP, and providing comprehensive financial updates to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all international entities.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory requirements.
- Oversee statutory financial reporting and audit coordination in each region.
- Consolidate regional financials and deliver insightful variance analysis.
- Drive accuracy through timely and accurate reconciliations.
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and local regulations.
- Manage statutory audits and liaise with external auditors and local finance teams.
- Monitor financial risks including currency exposure, tax compliance, and regulatory changes.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and execute opportunities for process standardization across regions.
- Drive automation of financial processes and reporting workflows.
- Champion continuous improvement and best practices across global finance teams.
- Minimize manual entries and reconciliation, including alignment with policy requirements on addressing reconciling items in a timely manner.
System Transformation & Integration
- Support ERP system transformation and integration efforts, particularly within an Oracle environment.
- Collaborate with IT and finance stakeholders to optimize system functionality and data integrity.
- Lead change management efforts related to financial systems and tools.
Strategic Business Support
- Partner with regional and corporate leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions and growth initiatives.
- Lead financial integration efforts for M&A activities in international markets.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor regional finance professionals across multiple time zones.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Promote diversity and inclusion in global team dynamics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent required.
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including international exposure.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in process improvement, automation, and system transformation.
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems; system integration experience is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel internationally as needed.
