BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Internal Logistics Leader (M/F/D) at our production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform daily operations related to customer service systems, distribution, import/export, and order processing;
  • Coordinate the launch of new logistics/distribution systems through the development of technical improvements in work processes and operations;
  • Internally coordinate the transportation of materials and finished products;
  • Implement and optimize internal storage and transportation processes to increase operational efficiency;
  • Ensure the management of warehouses for raw materials, finished products, parts, and others;
  • Ensure the necessary training for Warehouse Team Leaders so they can ensure the timely and efficient distribution of raw materials from the warehouse to production lines, as well as the flow of the final product from production to the warehouse;
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date logistics/distribution databases (training matrices, SAP, MES, FIS);
  • Work closely with various departments, particularly Production, Quality, and Purchasing, ensuring the expected flow of information;
  • Advise and support the transport team in tactical and strategic activities related to planning, scheduling, and shipments to customers;
  • Prepare inventory management objectives to minimize discrepancies in stock;
  • Monitor inventory levels weekly and ensure that necessary materials are available when needed;
  • Analyze data in ERP and MES systems to identify any discrepancies;
  • Promote efficient and open communication within the department and with other departments of the organization;
  • Analyze and report logistics performance indicators (material shortages, delivery of final product to customers, absenteeism) and propose continuous improvements;
  • Coordinate the internal logistics team and ensure task management and delegation to meet deadlines;
  • Manage and supervise internal logistics movements, ensuring efficient material handling;
  • Responsible for the storage management of spares and consumables;
  • Participate on the daily operational meetings
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and good logistics practices;
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System;
  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards, policies, and practices according to the level of responsibility;
  • Comply with the organization's internal rules and regulations: Code of Ethics, work practices, and hours;
  • Respect safety and cleanliness rules in the workplace;
  • Perform other tasks not included in the job description when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the necessary period as required by these needs or service convenience.


Education & Experience

  • High school or technical course completed;
  • Proven experience in SCM (eliminatory factor);
  • Experience in the automotive sector (preferable);
  • Team supervision and leadership skills;
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
  • Knowledge of ERP software;
  • Presentation, communication, and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to manage conflicts;
  • Decision-making ability;
  • Results-oriented;
  • Interpersonal communication skills;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • English language skills (preferable);
  • Fluent in Portuguese.
