Internal Communications Lead

The role of Internal Communications Lead is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to play a key role in developing our internal communications strategy and execution for Velonetic as we grow our business.  We are looking for an experienced, innovative, results-orientated, and passionate communications professional who will have a key role in helping to drive engagement across the business.

The role:

You will help to develop and execute internal communications plans.  A key part of this role will include building content and messaging to engage, inspire, and inform our diverse workforce. The ideal person will be a seasoned internal communications specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communication strategies to support Velonetic’s objectives.
  • Develop engaging content for various internal channels to engage our people.
  • Design and execute programmes and campaigns to boost employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior management on key messaging and brand positioning.
  • Implement internal communication plans to engage employees and align them with company goals.
  • Plan and execute internal events, such as town halls, employee meetings, etc.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in communications.
  • Ability to work with and utilise the right mix of channels available. SharePoint, Teams, Viva Engage, emailing platforms etc.
  • Work with various business units from within the organisation including Sales, Marketing, HR, and where appropriate, third-party providers to execute the plan.
  • Ensure brand compliance of creative and messaging.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstratable experience in internal communications including change management, ideally within financial services, with insurance industry experience a big plus.
  • Proficiency in using communications tools and platforms, for example, SharePoint, email marketing software, Canva, etc.
  • Demonstratable project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact with senior management on a regular basis.
  • Ability to learn fast and leverage the team’s experience and expertise.
  • Ability to create innovative new communications programmes that generate results.
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is expected.
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • 4+ years of Communications experience.
  • Experience in Financial or Technology industry, especially within insurance is a big plus.
