Job Description:

What’s the role?

As Internal Communications Advisor, you are responsible for managing official company content and employee communication for Shell Business Operations (SBO) Bangalore. You will develop, edit, collate, and standardize company content and communications, working independently with business, site, and function colleagues. The role involves creating internal communication collaterals such as employee newsletters, web content, and leadership messaging for key leaders. Additionally, you will support community outreach and engagement to strengthen Shell’s positioning in India and promote the energy transition narrative. You will also manage stories showcased on the hub for various Lines of Business (LoBs).

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and manage the stakeholder branding and communications plan for the site, including employee engagement initiatives and positioning Shell as an Employer of Choice among target universities and academic institutes.
  • Write, edit, and publish regular newsletters from the business leader.
  • Create and execute internal communications plans, including newsletters, intranet stories, and employee engagement programs for Shell in India.
  • Work with the Internal Communications Manager to integrate and align internal messaging with external narratives and announcements.
  • Contribute and provide support to Shell stakeholder programs such as employee volunteering activities, townhalls, and business engagement programs.
  • Collaborate with CR colleagues supporting businesses to ensure local employee communications plans align with business priorities.
  • Build the profile of senior Shell leaders on social channels like LinkedIn to position them as subject matter experts.

What we need from you

  • Graduate of Communications or related field with 8-10 years' experience in Corporate Communications with a strong focus on building content.
  • Expertise in creating content across multiple channels and formats, with in-depth knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of each medium.
  • Experience in executing communications within major change or transformation programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of agility and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of organizational strategies and value propositions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different cultures, languages, and time zones.
  • Five foundational CR competencies: Leadership Mindset & Behaviours, HSSE, E&C, Business & Professional Skills, Business Partnering.
  • Seven core CR functional competencies: Brand Development, Create Great Content, Crisis Management, Policy & Advocacy, Social Performance, Stakeholder Relationships, Reputation & Risk Management.
