Role Highlights

The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Internal Audit Manager to lead and deliver high‑quality audits and reviews in line with the Group Audit Manual and Group Internal Audit (GIA) strategy.

In this role, you’ll manage audit engagements end‑to‑end, lead and coach audit teams, and partner closely with stakeholders across the business. You’ll assess processes, risks and controls, provide practical insights, and support the ongoing uplift of QBE’s internal audit capability.

This is an opportunity to work across a diverse audit portfolio, contribute to strategic priorities, and build strong relationships while influencing better business outcomes.

About QBE

  • At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

  • We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

  • What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Your new role

  • Lead audits end‑to‑end, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and quality standards

  • Manage and coach audit team members, reviewing working papers and providing constructive feedback

  • Lead more complex audit engagements, including planning, stakeholder engagement and coordination of deliverables

  • Apply approved audit tools, methodologies and data analytics (including TM+ and sampling techniques)

  • Assess business processes, risks and controls, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness

  • Support the implementation of Group Internal Audit strategy and priorities

  • Actively contribute to GIA Centres of Excellence (e.g. Underwriting, Claims, AI, Change/Transformation, and Risk Culture)

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with business stakeholders

  • Handle differing viewpoints professionally, escalating where appropriate

  • Provide ongoing guidance, coaching and performance feedback to team members

About you

  • Proven experience in internal audit, external audit or risk management, ideally within insurance or financial services

  • Strong understanding of business processes, risks and internal controls, with the ability to identify practical improvement opportunities

  • Working knowledge of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Internal Audit Standards and relevant regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead audits end‑to‑end, applying audit methodology and exercising sound professional judgement

  • Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to influence and challenge constructively

  • Experience coaching or guiding others, with a collaborative and professional approach
