Internal Audit –Data Mining Analyst

Puma Processing Services LLP (PEPS) established in Year 2018, represents Puma Energy’s first captive off-shoring unit based in Mumbai, India. PEPS manages mid office and back office activities for Puma Businesses across verticals like Retail, B2B, Aviation, and enabling functions like IT & corporate. This offshore unit serves countries part of Africa Continent, Middle East and Asia Pacific and further extends support to group in Geneva for its core activities. PEPS currently supports Puma group through departments like: Finance, Business Support Management (BSM), HRSS and IT.

MAIN PURPOSE:

Provides data mining skills and reporting capability to Puma Energy’s Internal Audit, and especially to Continuous Auditing, on all in-scope IT environments: currently Business Central / Excel Power Query, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with the Puma Energy Continuous Auditing Team Leader and with the global Internal Audit Manager to identify priorities and deliverables.
• Gets familiar with the data structure of the relevant IT tools (e.g. SQL database for TMS, Databricks, Azure, Alteryx, Tableau) and keeps apprised of developments and updates.
• Is able to establish, correct and update data extraction programs (including but not limited to Power Query / Alteryx) for Internal Audit use.
• Validates with the Continuous Auditing Team Leader the proper design and functioning of data mining tools before they can be released to Production (for Internal Audit or for a wider audience).
• Stays informed of new program releases to assure a consistent service ability: the main programs (e.g. updates to Navision, e-Puma initiative) and the associated data mining tools.
• Maintain Internal Audit’s BI framework in order to provide Data Analytics and Business intelligence tools to the Internal Audit function.
• When feasible and advisable, suggests data mining procedures or improvements to the Audit Dept. for continuous improvement purposes.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Education: 

2-4 years as Data Analysis support on ERP systems and SQL databases. Alteryx Skills in data mining programs would be a plus.

Mandatory

Knowledge and Skills:

Data extraction and transformation capability for ERP systems.  Capable of working and communicating in English (written and spoken). Ability to work with limited supervision, addressing a pool of internal customers from varying cultural / language environments. Experience in using data visualization products, data mining tools and technologies (e.g. Alteryx, Databricks, Python, Tableau, Power BI).

Desirable

Experience in ERP implementation projects. Possibly, Internal Audit experience.

BSc or equivalent in Information Technology

Reports to the Puma Energy Internal Audit Team Leader

Key relationships:

Works with Puma Energy’s Internal Audit, with Navision experts and Tableau developers, and with TMS, Workday specialists.
