Zayo is seeking a Public Sector Business Development Intern to work alongside our sales and development teams to identify growth opportunities within the Government segment. This role offers hands-on experience in the telecommunications infrastructure industry while contributing to Zayo's mission of connecting what's next in technology and digital transformation.
Responsibilities:
Public Sector Focus
Monitor and analyze federal and state funding opportunities.
Support the development of proposals for ARPA-funded connectivity projects.
Research and track state-specific ARPA funding allocations and requirements.
Assist in identifying eligible healthcare facilities for the Rural Healthcare Program.
Help develop targeted solutions for public sector connectivity needs.
Business Development Support
Assist in creating target prospect lists across new customers, top billers, priority segments and target contract vehicles.
Support outbound campaign preparation and sales initiatives.
Help maintain customer relationship management (CRM) databases.
Participate in sales meetings and training sessions.
Project Coordination
Assist in coordinating with cross-functional teams across Zayo’s organization.
Help track and document business development and process improvement initiatives.
Contribute to the development of strategic growth plans.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed their sophomore year and be enrolled in a degree or certificate seeking program for the fall semester of 2026.
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a government-focused field (Arts in Government, Political Science, BPA.)
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong problem-solving skills along with analytical and research capabilities.
Action-oriented and a self-starter who can independently complete tasks and integrate feedback.
Interest in telecommunications and network infrastructure.
Estimated Base Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 USD/hour.
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance and 401(k).
