Your Team

Brookfield Residential’ s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the success of our projects and operations. This internship program is open to highly motivated and driven students who are eager to explore the development and residential real estate industry, gain practical experience, and make meaningful contributions to our team. The Summer Internship Program will begin on May 25, 2026 and conclude on August 14, 2026.

The Operations Intern role provides structured, hands-on exposure to residential construction operations, customer care, and purchasing within active Brookfield Residential communities. This internship is designed as a rotational program that supports field teams during peak summer workload while intentionally developing a future talent pipeline for Assistant Superintendent and Customer Care Representative roles. Interns will gain practical experience in jobsite operations, quality control, purchasing workflows, and homeowner experience processes, while operating under direct supervision and clearly defined responsibilities.

    Your Key Deliverables

    Construction & Field Operations:

    •  Assist with daily jobsite walks focused on safety, cleanliness, and organization
    •  Observe trade sequencing and coordination with Superintendents
    •  Support quality control walks and inspection preparation
    •  Input and track defects and punch items in BuildPro
    •  Assist with model and site maintenance activities
    •  Observe SWPPP compliance and site logistics

    Customer Care & Homeowner Experience:

    • Shadow warranty service request intake and documentation
    •  Observe homeowner communications and service scheduling
    •  Assist with tracking completion and homeowner signoffs
    •  Observe New Home Orientations and pre-walks (as appropriate)
    •  Learn how construction quality impacts customer satisfaction and survey results

    Purchasing:

    • Assist with bid comparisons and scope reviews
    •  Learn purchasing workflows and PO generation processes
    •  Support documentation and follow-up with vendors and trade partners
    •  Observe how purchasing decisions impact cost, schedule, and quality

    Professional Development:

    •  Participate in weekly check-ins with assigned mentor
    •  Gain exposure to Brookfield standards, systems, and culture
    •  Prepare and deliver a final summary presentation outlining lessons learned and improvement opportunities

    Qualifications:

    •  Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Construction Management, Engineering,    Business, Real Estate, Architecture, or a related field
    •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    •  Effective verbal and written communication skills
    •  Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    •  Ability to adapt quickly and learn new systems and processes
    •  Comfortable working on active construction job sites
    •  Must possess reliable transportation
    •  Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
