JD: Mobile Engineering Intern (iOS/Android)

News Corp India Office is looking for a Mobile Engineering Intern to join our innovative technology department. This role is designed for a college graduate eager to transition from academic theory to building real-world applications. You will work alongside experienced engineers to ship features, fix bugs, and learn the full lifecycle of professional mobile app development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feature Development: Work with a mentor to develop and deliver elegant, intuitive Mobile app features using Kotlin/Swift and Android/iOS frameworks.

  • Quality Assurance: Identify, troubleshoot, and fix bugs to ensure the performance and responsiveness of the application.

  • Agile Collaboration: Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning, to learn how high-performing teams deliver software.

  • Code Quality: Contribute to a clean codebase by participating in peer code reviews and following internal style guides.

  • Documentation: Help author developer documentation and internal tutorials to improve team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.

  • Engineering Foundations: Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Data Structures, and Algorithms.

  • Technical Interest: Basic familiarity with Java & Kotlin or Swift and Android Studio / Xcode (gained through coursework, personal projects, or hackathons).

  • Web Basics: Understanding of how mobile apps connect to back-end services via RESTful APIs and JSON.

  • Tools: Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.

  • Experience with Kotlin, Swift Programming or Firebase.
