Your Impact
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern who will contribute to the success of the Engineering Team, applying their knowledge in Mechanical Engineering to support the achievement of team and company goals and deliver innovative, reliable solutions. In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate effectively with colleagues and cross-functional teams, demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and maintain a commitment to professional excellence, quality and continuous improvement.
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will collaborate on highly technical products with a team of dedicated engineers and scientists from various disciplines. Under the guidance of your manager and assigned mentor, you will develop and implement engineering solutions for product enhancements and new development projects. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will play a key role in providing mechanical engineering solutions related to gas and liquid particle counting systems.
Job Responsibilities
Supporting research, new product development, and sustaining engineering activities
Designing mechanical, opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies with support from your functional manager and assigned mentor
Execution of test plans, prepare and present detailed test reports
Continuously evaluate processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety

Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Opto-Mechanical Engineering as a third- or fourth-year student or enrolled in a graduate program
Coursework in fluid dynamics, thermal analysis, physics and machine design
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD required
Self-directed and able to collaborate as part of a cross-functional team
Excellent technical problem-solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to follow detailed direction
Must be at least 18 years of age
Authorized to work in the United States
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is a 40-hour per week, full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2026 (3 months)
This role primarily operates in an office/lab/manufacturing environment. Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods of time
Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required

Compensation & Benefits
