The GQ Reliability Methods Statistics Group is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to support reliability evaluation, control, and advanced statistical research. The intern will work closely with members of the Reliability Methods Statistics team as well as cross-functional partners to gain hands-on experience with real-world reliability processes, statistical modeling, and emerging AI-based solutions.


This internship offers a strong learning opportunity for students interested in applying statistics, data science, and AI/ML to practical engineering and reliability problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members within the GQ Reliability Methods Statistics Group and with cross-functional teams.
  • Learn and support the group’s routine work in reliability evaluation and reliability control.
  • Study and research reliability statistics and modeling methods used in practice.
  • Explore, prototype, and evaluate AI/ML-based solutions to enhance existing reliability processes and methodologies.
  • Conduct independent research tasks, summarize findings, and present results to the team.
  • Document analyses, models, and insights in a clear and structured manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently a senior undergraduate (BS) or graduate student (MS).
  • Field of study in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Background in mathematical and/or statistical modeling.
  • Good scripting and programming skills using Python, JMP, and/or R for data analysis, modeling, or automation.
  • Exposure to AI/ML techniques through academic coursework, research projects, or prior work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with statistical analysis, modeling, or reliability-related projects.
  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows, data-driven modeling, or AI-assisted analysis.
  • Experience working on research-oriented or open-ended projects.
