Role Overview:
Contribute to building and evolving Genesys Business Messaging Web Messenger experiences that power real-time customer engagement at scale. This role supports the development of intuitive, high-performance web interfaces and backend services that improve how businesses connect with their customers. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you will gain hands-on exposure to modern development practices, cloud-based architectures, and AI-driven customer experience platforms. At Genesys, you will be part of a global team focused on delivering empathetic, scalable solutions that directly impact millions of user interactions. This internship provides a strong foundation for career growth through real product ownership, mentorship, and exposure to enterprise-grade systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop user-facing features that enhance performance, usability, and responsiveness of web messaging interfaces
  • Contribute to backend services that support scalable, reliable messaging functionality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into functional solutions
  • Design and execute test cases to ensure product quality, stability, and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects to maintain high system reliability
  • Participate in code reviews to improve code quality and engineering standards
  • Support automation initiatives that improve development efficiency and testing coverage
  • Engage in agile development processes, including sprint planning and stand-ups

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Python
  • Understanding of web development concepts including HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks
  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles
  • Exposure to version control systems such as Git
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Basic understanding of backend development and RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and automation tools
  • Exposure to cloud platforms or CI/CD pipelines
  • Interest in AI-driven customer experience technologies and messaging platforms
