Job Title: Engineering Intern – SIC
Hiring Manager: Director - Semiconductor Innovation Center
Mission of the role: This internship is focused on product development within Mott’s Semiconductor Innovation Center, supporting the design, development, and qualification of engineered components used in semiconductor manufacturing. Interns work closely with product development, applications, and manufacturing engineering teams to help translate customer requirements and concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
· Support product development activities, including design iteration, testing, and qualification of semiconductor-focused components and subsystems
· Assist with laboratory and cleanroom testing to evaluate performance, reliability, and robustness of development parts
· Drive design work utilizing 3D CAD and project management tools
· Contribute to prototype builds, hands-on testing, and data analysis to support product decisions
· Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product engineering, applications engineering, manufacturing, and quality
Document test results, observations, and development learnings in structured technical summaries
Technical Exposure & Learning Opportunities:
· Hands‑on experience with product development in a semiconductor-focused engineering organization
· Exposure to design-for-manufacturability, qualification testing, and customer-driven development requirements
· Insight into how semiconductor products are developed to meet demanding performance, reliability, and cleanliness standards
· Broader exposure to how core technologies developed in the Semiconductor Innovation Center are applied across industries such as energy, aerospace, healthcare, and specialty chemical processing
Qualifications
· Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
· Interest in applied engineering, experimental testing, and hands‑on problem solving
· Ability to work effectively in a team‑based, laboratory environment
· Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn disciplined experimental methods.
