Ecolab is seeking an Intern to support our Internal Controls team, at Ecolab GBS+ Pune Office.

What You Will Do:

• Gain hands-on exposure to SOX compliance and audit practices by supporting real-world testing documentation and evidence preparation. You’ll learn how internal controls are validated and why they matter for financial integrity.
• Work closely with compliance analysts and auditors, assisting in maintaining status trackers, compiling PBC listings, and managing data-request follow-ups, skills that mirror responsibilities in professional audit roles.
• Participate in process walkthroughs and documentation updates, understand how business processes are mapped, risks assessed, and controls designed.
• Assist in external audit coordination (e.g., PwC), learning how organizations prepare for and respond to audit requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping identify process gaps and efficiency opportunities, building analytical and problem-solving skills valued in risk and compliance careers.
• Develop a strong foundation in governance and risk management, positioning yourself for future roles in finance, audit, or compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office (basic formulas, sorting/filtering, data validation, PivotTables; clear document formatting).
• Strong attention to detail and deadline discipline; comfortable managing checklists and trackers in a structured environment.
• Effective communication (written/spoken English) with a service mindset for follow‑ups and clarification requests.
• Learning orientation and professional integrity suited to compliance/audit settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior internship, project, or work experience in Finance, Audit, or Risk.
• Exposure to SOX concepts, internal controls, or basic sampling methods through coursework or certifications.
• Familiarity with SAP/Oracle or Power BI at a beginner level.
• Experience working with SharePoint/Teams for document collaboration and meeting coordination.

Skills:

• Excel fundamentals: lookup functions (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), PivotTables, conditional formatting, text cleanup, and data validation.
• Analytical thinking & logical reasoning: ability to follow testing steps, reconcile lists, and spot gaps in evidence logically.
• Process understanding: Curiosity about how process works; eagerness to learn control objectives/attributes.
• Organization & follow‑through: Reliable in tracking requests, meeting prep, and closing loops with stakeholders.
• Risk awareness & professionalism: handle confidential information appropriately; escalate when unsure; document carefully
