POSITION SUMMARY

Location: Zug | Duration: 10–12 weeks | Summer 2026

This is an excellent and rare opportunity to gain experience at a dynamic biotech company and contribute to their exciting journey of global commercialization and pipeline expansion.

We are looking for an energetic, structured and analytical individual to join our International Commercial Operations Team based in Zug, Switzerland. During this summer you will support the evaluation and forecasting of late-stage pipeline products for our international markets. As an intern you will play a key role in the development of a next-generation Excel-based forecasting model in a disease area that is new to Mirum and characterized by distinct epidemiological and market dynamics.

The primary focus of the internship will be the designing and building of a robust, scalable, and assumption-driven forecasting model that integrates into Mirum’s existing international forecasting framework. The model will incorporate disease specific epidemiology, prevalence, diagnosis, and treatment dynamics relevant to the pipeline product.

This project will directly inform long-term strategic planning, geographic prioritization, and commercial readiness for the pipeline assets. In this role, you collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Market Access, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, Clinical and Business Development teams to align key inputs and assumptions.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consolidate, validate and document current knowledge and assumptions (incl. data sources) on
    • Epidemiology - prevalence, incidence, diagnoses, treatment cascade leading to a robust patient funnel
    • Market access & pricing
    • Phasing of geographic rollout
  • Design and build a dynamic, Excel-based global forecasting engine for pipeline assets
  • Include sensitivity analyses and scenario modelling (base, upside, downside cases)
  • Connect the new model with Mirum’s existing commercial forecasting framework
  • Develop clear documentation for the model logic and functionality to ensure transparency and long-term maintainability
  • Translate complex modelling outputs into clear executive-ready insights and recommendations
  • Deliver a final presentation summarizing approach & methodology, key drivers, risks, and strategic implications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • 3–5 years of professional experience, preferably in biotech, pharma, finance or related industries including management consulting
  • Demonstrated experience in financial, forecasting and advanced Excel modelling (incl. VBA)
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop insights
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable working independently and within cross-cultural, virtual teams
  • Enrolled in an MBA or other relevant Master’s program during the internship period

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational background in science or involving handling of data desirable
  • Good understanding of the (bio)pharmaceutical industry and the end-to-end process of international drug commercialization, including launch planning, market access, pricing, and distributor/partner models
  • Exposure to commercial forecasting, launch planning, or market access strategy
  • Experience working with large datasets or database tools (e.g., Snowflake SQL, Power BI)
