Position Overview

As an AI Research Intern, you will design and implement advanced AI algorithms to improve Micron’s silicon and systems development processes. This role offers the freedom and resources to conduct publishable research while working on real-world projects. You will collaborate with internal teams and external researchers to bring up proof-of-concept demonstrations and transfer technology into production workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement modern AI algorithms for real-world semiconductor and systems challenges.
  • Rapidly develop and demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions.
  • Collaborate with AI architects, internal product teams, and external research partners.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and share knowledge within the team.
  • Publish original research and present findings at top-tier conferences.
  • Develop implementation plans to transfer AI technologies to relevant Micron groups.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge in AI domains: machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python.
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Solid mathematical foundation for algorithm development.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven research experience with publications in top-tier ML conferences.
  • Ability to implement and scale AI algorithms for large datasets.
  • Experience with distributed computing and GPU acceleration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$31.15 - $37.38 an hour

Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
