Interior Designer(s) (full-time; multiple openings) needed to work in Washington, DC to participate in marketing (proposals for new projects and interviews) and business development efforts for new commercial interior design projects. Create conceptual design packages for feasibility studies, projects, and competitions. Lead and direct team members on the development of design throughout schematic and design development phases. Formulate approach to design presentations and work with team members to develop presentation content. Present design concepts to clients. Incorporate feedback into design updates. Research artistic and technical issues. Participate in selection of color palette, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey design concepts, and to meet functional, socio-psychological and safety requirements. Build 3D architectural and interior design models and graphic presentations. Collaborate with design team and develop solutions that are coordinated through the construction documentation phase of a project. Provision of contract documents to facilitate pricing, procurement and installation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, and equipment (FF&E). Assist licensed architect in validating and facilitating design decision via technology tools such as digital fabrication, physical mock-up, and virtual reality. Participate in the selection and presentation of FF&E, color palettes and lighting.
Must have a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design or related field, plus two (2) years of related interior design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with all of the following:
(1) Test fitting, space planning, and designing workplace interiors for global technology company headquarters and campuses, law firms, professional services; designing mixed-use and office building repositioning, including both exterior and interior design layouts;
(2) 2D/3D modeling and rendering in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign);
(3) Translating an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images using 2D/3D software including AutoCAD, Revit, Illustrator, SketchUp, InDesign, Bluebeam Revu, Rhino utilizing V-Ray and Enscape;
(4) Preparing full Design Development, Schematic Design, Construction Document sets in AutoCAD and/or Revit including construction and furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, sections, and elevations;
(5) Producing design presentations, 2D/3D renderings and animations and construction drawings with high level of proficiency to convey overall design concepts and development using InDesign, PowerPoint, Bluebeam Revu, Illustrator and Photoshop;
(6) Leading and coordinating with consultants, MEP Engineers, Lighting Designers, Acoustical Consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives as well as reviewing their shop drawings to ensure compliance with design concept; AND
(7) Selecting and specifying appliances, equipment and other function items to support end users in the workplace experience that align with the project sustainability goals.
In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree related interior design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship). Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree related interior design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) must include experience with all of the following:
(1) Test fitting, space planning, and designing workplace interiors for global technology company headquarters and campuses, law firms, professional services; designing mixed-use and office building repositioning, including both exterior and interior design layouts;

Must have valid NCIDQ license. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Incidental telecommuting may apply. Standard benefits will be offered, and employees will be eligible for bonuses.
The base salary range is $96,366.00 to $96,366.00, commensurate with relevant experience.
