What you’ll do
• ESG Assurance Leadership: Lead and coordinate the Group’s ESG assurance roadmap for 2026–2027, ensuring compliance with evolving sustainability reporting and assurance regulations for a UK-listed global company.
• External Assurance Management: Manage the relationship with the external assurance provider, collaborating closely with ESG data owners and senior leadership, including the Audit Committee, to deliver assurance readiness and reporting.
• Process Improvement & System Integration: Support initiatives to systematize ESG data aligned with the Weir Group Product Operating Model and manage ESG requirements during the ERP transformation (SAP S/4HANA).
• Reporting & Compliance Oversight: Define ESG reporting criteria for annual disclosures, integrate business acquisition data, and monitor emerging sustainability standards and regulations globally.
• Data Quality & Governance: Advocate continuous improvement in ESG data quality, controls, and automation opportunities to enhance governance and reporting accuracy.
• Travel Requirements: Minimal travel expected; occasional visits to offices or external meetings may be required.

What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
• Proven ESG assurance experience, ideally within a multinational listed company or advisory firm, with knowledge of ISSB, EU CSRD, UK SRS, and related frameworks.
• Finance professional qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA) preferred.
• Strong communication and project management skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders including Audit Committees and external auditors.
• Demonstrated expertise in complex data governance, consolidation, and reporting environments for financial and non-financial data.
Nice-to-haves:
• Experience with ESG data management systems and sustainability reporting tools.
• Background in ESG system transformation or ERP integration projects.
• Previous roles in audit, assurance, consultancy, or ESG controller/finance management positions.
• Experience working with Big 4 or global advisory firms.
