Job Summary: You will serve as a INTERDIS/GENERAL/MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS ENGINEER/NAVAL ARCHITECH in the Military Sealift Command (MSC), Life Cycle Management Division of the Engineering Department. MSC is the Echelon 3 Type Command for U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: GS-13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with shipboard main and auxiliary systems, including main propulsion systems, electrical generation and distribution systems, heating ventilation and air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, firefighting systems, cargo systems, fuel systems, lubrication systems, communications systems, seawater systems, auxiliary boiler systems, piping systems, ship structure, coating systems, habitability, etc. Experience with broad range of marine propulsion systems, including gas turbine systems, steam turbine systems, high/medium/slow speed diesel systems and diesel electric systems. Experience with advanced theory, concepts, principles and practices of marine and naval engineering and naval architecture in order to serve as expert as well as to resolve unique or complex marine life cycle management issues pertaining to ship design, operation, maintenance, and repair. Experience reviewing plans, specifications, preliminary engineering reports, design drawings and specifications for ship maintenance, repair, and alteration, shipboard operating instructions, policies and guides for maintenance management, providing consultative services on the full range of ship machinery and structural systems.
