Major Duties:

  • You will provide thorough assessment, counseling, and consultation services to clients who present for care with substance use risk factors and/or disorders.
  • You will interview individuals and family members to analyze factors affecting personality development and family dynamics related to symptomatic behaviors and complex interpersonal issues.
  • You will independently develop treatment plans and provide direct care using a variety of techniques to address personal, social, or environmental challenges related to substance use disorders.
  • You will perform administrative duties in support of provided services.
  • You will stay current in clinical supervision and related areas through continuing education, training, and professional literature.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing counseling or case management services; applying principles of human social services and family systems; addressing substance misuse or related behavioral concerns; assessing client needs and developing support plans; and coordinating services to support individual and family well-being. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
