Job Summary: You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/ ARCHITECT (Project Manager) in the PLANNING, DESIGN, & CONSTRUCTION (PDC) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.

Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for the project management of work related to military construction projects.
  • You will render technical decisions/recommendations on situations, questions, and/or problems relating to scheduling, funding, project coordination, and contract interpretations related to execution of projects.
  • You will identify areas of risk associated with design and construction and develops mitigation strategies or alternatives.
  • You will lead/serve on A-E Slate/Selection Boards and provides recommendations for contract awards.
  • You will Serve as liaison between project team and Supported Commander.

Qualifications: GS-13 APPLICANTS ONLY: This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Please provide a current copy. GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Leading project teams with responsibility to coordinate and manage scope, schedule, and budget for facilities design and construction; 2) Coordinating all phases of facilities design and construction independently within constraints and stakeholder requirements; 3)Facilitating sensitive stakeholder discussions and resolution of complex problem exercising sound judgement; 4) Developing, monitoring, and controlling schedules in coordination with stakeholders requirements and commitments; 5) Tracking and reporting project status using enterprise project management software tools, scheduled reports and briefings, and unscheduled data calls; and 6) Coordinating the development and implementation of project acquisition plans in alignment with enterprise goals, legal constraints and best practices. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Providing project management for the design, planning, design, and construction of assigned projects; 2) Providing project management recommendations or decisions regarding facilities engineering, construction, environmental compliance, planning, real estate, mission impact and cost tradeoffs; 3) Coordinating the development and implementation of project acquisition plans; and 4) Managing projects schedule and budget.
