INTERDISCIPLINARY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST

Salary Range: $90838 - $118092 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Environmental Engineer/Physical Scientist in the Environment Compliance and Services Division, Environmental Business Line of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Major Duties:

  • You will develop instructions and guidelines for the applicable Navy environmental programs in your area of responsibility.
  • You will issue directives, correspondence and messages to ensure that field activities are aware of the latest regulations, standards, criteria, and requirements that impact applicable environmental programs.
  • You will develop Navy actions and guidelines on pollution control matters and problems in coordination with Federal, State, local, and/or foreign environmental controls officials.
  • You will identify program requirements and document the requirements to develop, plan, program, and budget submittals.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and conduct environmental compliance surveys and audits of activities and their operations to investigate compliance with applicable standards.
  • You will participate in audit team visits to identify all environmental deficiencies and assist the activity in identifying corrective measures and projects for eliminating the deficiencies.
  • You will review military construction and special projects and provide comments relative to environmental requirements.
  • You will prepare scopes of work, government estimates, board reports, project schedules, and other documents to execute and administer contracts.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
