Major Duties:

  • You will provide training, technical guidance, and mentoring to engineers, ensuring their development and technical proficiency.
  • You will support multiple programs by reviewing and analyzing design changes, material formulations, engineering analyses, and determining the need for requalification plans and testing.
  • You will evaluate and approve or disapprove requests for the use and repair of faulty materials and components, ensuring compliance with established standards and addressing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • You will participate in process evaluation boards, assessing changes to manufacturing processes, reviewing contractor data for adverse trends, and facilitating process improvements to ensure product quality and integrity.
  • You will provide ongoing engineering support for deployed systems, addressing operational issues, supporting repairs, and ensuring proper implementation and design integrity through corrective actions and program evaluations.

Qualifications: In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Professional engineering experience in aeronautics and astronautics, including design, analysis, safety standards, project management, and stakeholder coordination.
