As an Accountant II for Zayo Group, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting functions including month-end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, variance analysis and assisting on other accounting related tasks. This role blends accounting knowledge with data analysis, providing you with valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Specifically, this role will be responsible for the intercompany accounting between Zayo Group, recent acquisitions and international subsidiaries. This position will need strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills which are essential for success in this role.
Our ideal candidate resides in the Denver, CO area, operating in a hybrid capacity (1-2 days per week in office and 3-4 days remotely), with flexibility based on business needs.
Responsibilities
Participate in preparing month-end close by completing assigned close tasks, analyzing P&L fluctuations and preparing journal entries.
Responsible for accounting tasks related to intercompany transactions between Zayo and its subsidiaries specific to documentation, reconciliation, billing and journal entry preparation.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
Assist with the completion of the monthly variance analysis used to support reporting monthly results to management.
Collaborate with numerous teams to investigate and resolve issues timely and ensure financials are accurate.
Help lead the team to make sure tight deadlines are being met.
Focus on continuous process improvement and developing efficient ways to support the business.
Assist with additional duties or other ad hoc projects as assigned by the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in Accounting (preferred) or Finance required.
Three to five (3-5) years of accounting experience required, interco accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS365 products.
Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather relevant data, and draw actionable conclusions.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and across departments.
Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce and/or OneStream preferred.
Experience in the telecommunications industry preferred.
Estimated base salary range: $53,300 - $82,000 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
